WHAT TO EXPECT
Your registered nurse collects a small amount of your own blood which is then spun in a centrifuge that separates your plasma. this plasma contains platelets that include growth factors which are important in tissue repair and regeneration. Fibrin is a protein that plays an important part in the blood clotting process and it works to stabilise the platelets and growth factors to increase their efficiency when managing wound healing. The platelet-rich fibrin is then injected back into the targeted areas to promote healing and regeneration or a filler effect. Growth factors in PRF stimulate local stem cells and progenitor cells which in turn promote tissue repair and regeneration. 3 initially treatments 4 weeks apart is recommend for prf.
